On a beautiful morning of 17th November 2018, LESI Digital Music Education Centre hosted its 2nd Multicultural Children's Charity Concert at SUNPAC auditorium with the title sponsored by the Chinese Jockey Club. The concert brought children and their dreams together before more than 500 distinguished guests including

Representative of State Councilor Peter Russo MP

Representative of Australian Minister of Education, State Councilor Duncan Pegg MP

Representative of Brisbane Mayor, Cr Steven Huang

Immigration Regional Minister Steve Biddle

City Councilor Cr Kim Marx, also the Queen's Medal Winner

Community Leader Lewis Lee OAM, Peter Low OAM

Music Education CEO, Digital Music Education Founder,  Mr. Gong Xusheng

As the first digital music learning centre in Australia, LESI recognized the importance and significance of providing valuable music education to a multicultural community and country. The importance was strongly emphasized at the concert  with LESI not only celebrating talented young musicians of their own but also talented children from all over the world though performances by 5 other cultural groups. Those performers came from Japan, Africa, India, China and Australia.

The opening item of the concert was put up by the talented team of LESI. Teachers , administrators, managers and directors of the centre came together , dressed in the outfits of their dream jobs. They danced to an upbeat song "High Hopes", delivering a powerful message to the audience that dreams can come true if you believe in the beauty of dreams.

The amazing program lineup included drum performances by children who had merely joined the centre for months and piano performances by students of the newly launched digital piano program. The little ones put up strong and brave performances with pieces like the YMCA and Jingle Bell Rock.  And as the enthusiastic audience cheered on the children, the older performers continued rocking the concert with  music pieces like Hey Juliet and Become the Wind. The concert was not at its peak until LESI's little drummers hit the right notes , rocked  the house down and got everyone moving to Beat It and Rolling in The Deep.

LESI digital piano program had only began in July 2018 and it was such a proud moment to have  the piano babies making their first appearances in the concert with most only started learning the instrument a couple of months before. They put up a courageous and beautiful performance of Ode To Joy!

The charity concert donated all its proceeds to the Mater Little Miracles in support of the needy children under its care programs. It was an honour to have Ms Gayatri Choudhury, Fundraising Officer of Mater Foundation on site to receive the donations straight from the hands and hearts of the audiences. Many were moved to tears as the audiences, including little children, filed up onto the stage orderly with their loving contributions in their hands. A simple donation drive initially planned to last for just a couple of minutes extended beyond a quarter of an hour. The generosity of the audiences was unforgettable and overwhelming.

The concert ended on a high note with the little performers from LESI's Toddler Music Playgroup putting up a little musical skit about saving Mother Earth.  Parents and children performers dressed up as animals and forest rangers raised awareness on saving the environment. The theme song of " Save My World' got everyone moving their hands and cheering for the children as they sang their hearts out.

An amazing and touching end to LESI's 2nd Multicultural Charity Concert. What would the amazing LESI team of teachers and creators bring to the table next year? Stay tuned.
